Annual Updating Service - How Does it Work?

The starting point of the annual updating service is a recent valuation - this can either have been carried out by Gurr Johns, or by another reputable valuation company and preferably should have been done in the last three years. We can however update older valuations if required.

If you have any doubt about the validity of your valuation please call us and we can advise you. If necessary we can give you a quotation for a new valuation at a specially discounted rate.

If another company has recently carried out your valuation, we would aim to undertake a simple data transfer to the Gurr Johns format at a nominal charge. Again call us and we can advise.

Valuations will normally include a description of each item, location, a photograph and the value. We give each item a unique number and then maintain a secure record of this valuation on our central database. We will then code each item with one of over 450 category codes, which cover every sector of the fine art market.
